Previously, Bare Bones recommended setting sync to *Hourly* over the
automatic setting to work around a bug in MobileMe syncing. Not sure
that bug exists, but to my knowledge, BB still recommends hourly for
syncing.
I suggest you switch to hourly and see if that helps.
