direct scan input to yojimbo?

I'm trying to figure out a method to scan a document (or image)
directly into Yojimbo. I've never used Automator and my skill using
Applescript doesn't go beyond modifying existing scripts to make them
work for me. I've looked at what is available using Image Capture to
control the scanning. I also see that Automator can create plug-ins
that act on Image Capture output.
Is it possible to directly scan into Yojimbo? If not, some kind of
scan input interface would be a great addition to Yojimbo.

Amazing! I was thinking that a Folder Action might be the way to
resolve my dilemma.
I'm new to this so bear with me...
I use Image Capture to control my scanner. (I currently have an Epson
scanner works beautifully with Image Capture.) What I want to do is
scan multiple pages (PDF), combine them into a multi-page document,
name the document, then import it to Yojimbo.
Image Capture allows me to specify a location to scan to, or an Image
Capture plug-in to act upon its output. Automator can create Image
Capture plug-ins. I imagine that Applescript can too.
With a Folder Action, I would have to create an Applescript and attach
it to the folder, right?

Look at an existing script and see how it gets hold of the file. Then
tell yojimbo to open it.
BUT it can trigger before the file is fully saved if scaner slow. So I
suggest a delay of a few seconds in the script

I bought a book on Automator/Applescript yesterday. I'm still working
this problem. I'll post again when I figure something out. Thanks for
