May Volunteer Projects!

Thanks to all eight of the volunteers who came out for our Annual Earth Day Project, sprucing up Hollywood Park next to Abbot Elementary School!  We picked up trash and cut down invasive buckthorn and honeysuckle, then took a nice walk through the woods with our Natural Area Preservation leader and headed back to The Yoga Room for a delicious vegetarian potluck brunch.  Check out some pictures from our workday here!

Coming up in May we have two more projects that need volunteers, our monthly Delonis Center Meal Service and a workday at Tilian Farm Development Center.  See the details below and please email the contact person if you can help out!

Delonis Center Dinner Service 

Thursday, May 1, 5-7pm

Yoga Serves has been volunteering at the Delonis Center every month for the past 6 years! On the first Thursday of each month, a group of Yoga Serves members meet at the shelter to help with the preparation, serving, and clean-up of the free dinners served every night by the Delonis Center.

Tilian Farm Work Day 

Saturday, May 17,  2-5pm,  4400 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor

Come get your hands dirty helping out on the farm!  The Tilian Farm Development Center is an 'incubator' for start-up farms in Ann Arbor.  We will help out however is needed that day--weeding, planting, or maybe even re-skinning a greenhouse!

Tilian Farm Workday 

Saturday, May 17,  2-5pm 

4400 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor

The Tilian Farm Development Center is an 'incubator' for start-up farms in Ann Arbor.  We will be paired up on this day with two new farmers who are getting started producing vegetables for CSA, juicing and for sale at farmer's markets. They are hoping to film a Kickstarter video Saturday, so it sounds like it should be a fun and productive afternoon!
