.

* Murty / SV read <Arya-vRtta> as compassion and concern / purity.

its stricter meaning is "one of Aryan conduct, Proper".

*vlm. He managed himself in an honourable manner all along that time.

* #kIra appears to be #kirAta, in himAlayan country, where the chaNDAla Tales will occur http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirata_Kingdom links to sources dealing with this and the Celestials as Vedic tribes.

~AS. mukhy+AGgaNAt (from the main courtyard) nabhobhAgAt (from the sky) astam this joins with the rest to make this meaning: Dressed thus with a single garment, he exited alone from the main courtyard; like sun stepping out of a region of the sky.

~m.23 The citizens avoided him. The courtiers did not pay any attention to his orders. All felt that his presence was inauspicious. People started running away from him as if a demon was approaching them. Thus he became like a stranger among his own people. People, and the ministers took to the extreme step of purifying themselves through religious rites as redemption from the associations with a chandala for several years.

~sv. Thus neglected by his ministers, servants and the ladies-in-waiting who used to adorn him, Gavala began to appear in his real form — as a dark and ugly tribesman, hideous to look at, like a crematorium.

~vlm.23. The servants ceased to minister unto him, and the ladies with all their love and sorrowed for him, loathed his company.
