*vlm.1 Vasishtha continued;—Now in my curiosity to know the world, I thought myself as transformed to the form of the current air; and by degrees extended my essence, all over the infinite extent of the universe.

on the operations of the wind,

*vlm.49. I beheld innumerable elephantine clouds, and countless suns and moons in the starry frame on the sky; as I see the flights of gnats and flies in the vacuum bf my mind.

*sv.32-50 In those worlds, too, there were the gods and the planets, mountains and oceans, and the illusory notions of birth, old age and death. I roamed all those realms to my heart's content. Countless types of beings like the celestials and the sages rested on my body like so many flies and mosquitoes. By my leave they obtained their various forms and colours. They derived immense pleasure when I touched them, but they could not see me.

*vlm.50. In my minute form of the intellect, I held, O Ráma, the earth with its footstools of the nether regions upon my head; (because the vacuous intellect is capable of containing and upholding all things).

And as my soul was awakened to knowledge, I saw this whole in the soul of Brahma.

*vlm.63. There is but One universal soul, which is the ever undecaying cause of all; and produces and lives through out the whole. (This is called the vizvarUpa hypostasis of god, as it is expressed by the poet "These as they change, are but the varied god," and the world is full of Him). And as my soul was awakened to knowledge, I saw this whole in the soul of Brahma.

.संख्यैर् व्योम.मातङ्गैश् चन्द्र.अर्क.चल.चामरैः

a.saMkhyai:_vyoma.mAtaGgai:_candra.arka.cala.cAmara.s.i: |

उदुम्बर.अन्तर्.मशकैर् इव मद्*धृदये स्थितम् ॥७।९२।४९॥

udumbara.antar.mazakai:_iva mat*hRdaye sthita.m ||7|92|49||

सर्व.पाताल=पादेन भुतल.उदर.धारिणा

sarva.pAtAla=pAdena bhutala.udara.dhAriNA |

.मूर्ध्ना_अपि तदा, राम, त्यक्ता_अथ पराणुता ॥७।९२।५०॥

kha.mUrdhnA_api tadA, rAma, na tyaktA_atha parANutA ||7|92|50||

दिक्षु सर्वासु सर्वत्र सर्वदा सर्व.कारिणा

dikSu sarvAsu sarvatra sarvadA sarva.kAriNA |

सर्वात्मना_py_असर्वेण शून्य.रूपेण संस्थितम् ॥७।९२।५१॥

sarva.AtmanA_api_a.sarveNa zUnya.rUpeNa saMsthita.m ||7|92|51||

किम्चित्त्वम् d अकिम्चित्त्वम् .कृतित्वम् निर्.आकृति

kiMcittvam sat_a.kiMcittvam sa.AkRtitvam nir.AkRti |

अनुभूतम् .जाड्यम् चेतनत्वम् अलम् मया ॥७।९२।५२॥

anubhUta.m sa.jADyam ca cetanatvam alam mayA ||7|92|52||

मैनाक.मुग्ध.पीनस्य सागरस्य_अवनिम् प्रति

mainAka.mugdha.pInasya sAgarasya_avani.m prati |

सन्ति सर्ग.सहस्राणि रथ.अणुभूतान्य्_अथो मया ॥७।९२।५३॥

santi sarga.sahasra.aNi ratha.aNubhUtAni_atha.u mayA ||7|92|53||

जगत्य्_अङ्गे मया_ऊढानि गूढानि प्रकटान्य्_अपि

jagati_aGge mayA_UDhAni gUDhAni prakaTAni_api |

प्रतिबिम्ब.पुराणि_इव मुकुरेण_अजडात्मना ॥७।९२।५४॥

pratibimba.purANi_iva mukureNa_a.jaDAtmanA ||7|92|54||

एवम् जल.अनिल.अग्नित्वम् भूमित्वम् स्वात्मना मया

evam jala.anila.agnitvam bhUmitvam svAtmanA mayA |

कृतम् चिता_इव स्वप्नेषु वत माया.विजृम्भितम् ॥७।९२।५५॥

kRta.m citA_iva svapna.iSu vata mAyA.vijRmbhita.m ||7|92|55||

अपि तस्याम् अवस्थाया* जगnty_आकाश.कोशके

api tasyAm avasthAya.a: jaganti_AkAza.kozake |

मया दृष्टान्य् संख्यानि परमाणु.कणम् प्रति ॥७।९२।५६॥

mayA dRSTAni_a.saMkhyAni paramANu.kaNam prati ||7|92|56||

परमाणु.प्रतिव्योम परमाणु.प्रतिस्थितम्

paramANu.prativyoma paramANu.pratisthita.m |

सर्ग.वृन्दम् यथा स्वप्ने स्वप्न.अन्तर.युतम् पुरम् ॥७।९२।५७॥

sarga.vRnda.m yathA svapne svapnAntara.yuta.m pura.m ||7|92|57||

स्वम् एव_अहम् अभूवम् भू.मण्डलम् द्वीप.कुण्डलम्

svam eva_aham abhUvam bhU.maNDalam dvIpa.kuNDalam |

सर्व.आत्मना_अपि व्याप्तम् किम्च अपि मया क्वचित् ॥७।९२।५८॥

sarva.AtmanA_api na vyApta.m kiMcana_api mayA kvacit ||7|92|58||

समुत्पादयाता_अशेषम् लता.तरु.तृण.अङ्कुरम्

samutpAdayAtA_azeSa.m latA.taru.tRNa.aGkura.m |

भूतलेन रसाः कृष्टा* मया_अर्थेन एव पुम्.भृताम् ॥७।९२।५९॥

bhUtalena rasa.a: kRSTA mayA_arthena_eva pum.bhRtAm ||7|92|59||

अवदाततमे युद्ध.बोध.कालम् उपेयुषि

avadAtatame yuddha.bodha.kAlam upeyuSi |

जगत्*लक्षाणि तिष्ठन्ति तिष्ठन्ति कानिचित् ॥७।९२।६०॥

jagat*lakSa.aNi tiSThanti na tiSThanti na kAnicit ||7|92|60||

चिति यास् तु चमत्कारम् चमत्कुर्वन्ति यत् स्वतः

citi yA:_tu camatkAra.m camat.kurvanti yat svata: |

स्व.चमत्कृतयो_ऽन्तस्थास् द् एताः सृष्टि.दृष्टयः ॥७।९२।६१॥

sva.camat.kRtaya:_antasthA:_tat_eta.a: sRSTi.dRSTaya: ||7|92|61||

अनुभूतम् कृतम् कष्टम् यावत् कचन किम्चन

anubhUta.m kRta.m kaSTa.m yAvat kacana kiMcana |

परमार्थ.चमत्काराद् ऋते नेह_उपलभ्यते ॥७।९२।६२॥

paramArtha.camatkArAt_Rte na_iha_upalabhyate ||7|92|62||

प्रत्येकम् विश्व.रूप.त्मा सर्व.कर्ता निरामयः

pratyekam vizva.rUpa.AtmA sarva.kartA nirAmaya: |

प्रबुद्धः शुद्ध.बोध.आत्मा सर्वम् ब्रह्म.आत्मकम् यतः ॥७।९२।६३॥

prabuddha: zuddha.bodha.AtmA sarvam brahmAtmaka.m yata: ||7|92|63||

सर्वः सर्वत्र सर्वात्मा सर्वगः सर्वसंश्रयः

sarva: sarvatra sarva.AtmA sarva.ga: sarva.saMzraya: |

एतत् प्रबुद्ध.विषयम् अप्रबुद्धम् वेद्म्य्_अहम् ॥७।९२।६४॥

etat prabuddha.viSayam aprabuddha.m na vedmi_aham ||7|92|64||

आकाश.कोश.विशद्=आत्मनि चित् स्वरूपे

AkAza.koza.vizat=Atmani cit_svarUpe

या_इयम् सदा कचति सर्ग.परम्परा_इति

yA_iyam sadA kac.ati sarga.paramparA_iti |

सान्तस् तदेव किल ताप* इव_अन्तरूष्मा

sAnta:_tadeva kila tApa* iva_antarUSmA

भेद.उपलम्भ* इति अस्ति सद्.असत्य्_अनन्तम् ॥७।९२।६५॥

bheda.upalambha* iti na_asti sat.asati_ananta.m ||7|92|65||

santoSaH paramo lAbhaH satsaGgaH paramA gatiH |
vicAraH paramaM jJAnaM zamo hi paramaM sukham ||

सन्तोषः परमो लाभः सत्सङ्गः परमा गतिः।
विचारः परमं ज्ञानं शमो हि परमं सुखम्॥
Contentment is the highest gain, Good Company the highest course,
Enquiry the highest wisdom, and Peace the highest enjoyment.
