-vlm.8. Soldiers clad in black iron armour, were as the dark blue waters of the deep, and the headless bodies groveling in dust were as the eddies of the sea, with the encircled equipments as the sea weeds.

-AS. It (the battle ocean) appears fierce with the armies in black armor swirling about the waters. In the lines of the eddy currents in the waters (ka-bandha=water in this context) it wears ornaments of demons who eat armies (sainya-Adin), which is in reality corpses swirling about in with soldiers shining in between like ornaments.

-vlm.14. The battlefield had become like the wonderous field of the air, where the furious war, like a tremendous earthquake, shook the hills like moving clouds in the sky.

-DC    battle was as wonderful as a village in the sky, and it was moving mountains like in dissolution earthquake.

-AS. That battle looked as amazing as a magical Gandharva city suddenly apearing in the sky. The battle became like mountains vibrating due to a great deluge (the Gandharve city has a shimmering appearance, while the battle had clear movements).
