Endorsing Foreign Employment Act : A Welcoming Effort
We welcome the endorsement of Foreign Employment Act by the Cabinet of Ministers, Government of Nepal. We are hopeful that the act shall address the needs and problems of thousands of youth migrating for foreign employment every day.
We are hopeful that the act shall be effectively implemented which has clearly spelled out to incorporate the subject foreign employment in school and university curricula, ensure women rights, improvement of Nepali human resource according to demand of labour in international job market and identification of international labour market which we believe shall ensure managed foreign employment that checks human trafficking which are done under the name of foreign employment.
We also appeal with the government to ensure direct and strong youth participation and engagement while formulating guidelines, promulgating relevant policies and programmes as youth are directly involved as a major force of foreign employment.
