I received my "samsung brand" adapters today and have both good and bad news.

good news: all samsung brand usb adapters recognize the minivna standard on the usb port and the red led comes on. (throw away the Chinese copy not compatible at all junk)

now the bad news, it will not calibrate "open" here's what happens

usb connector connected notice, (red "on" led for  the minivna on)  then asks if i want to run bluevna or pocketrxtx, i select bluevna

i press "connect" and i get connected successfully to minivnastd with a blue indicator in the red start box

i press start then get a "connect open reference" window....there is nothing to connect for open circuit so i press "ok"

a window opens and says "preforming open calibration" please wait, the minivna "operational data led" lights once briefly

it then continues to search "open calibration" without pinging the vna (data led) again and simply continues to preform open calibration forever until i close the app or remove the minivna

I cannot get past this window?  Any ideas please, it's very close to operational

Regards

I cannot say the same for mine. I have two cheap Chinese adapters which
works ok for me.

Yes, you're right. I will modify this message for miniVNA standard which
does not have an open calibration reference provided in the package.

It seems that the command is sent to the miniVNA, but nothing received.
It must "flash" for a few seconds till a full capture (1000 steps) is made.

Is very difficult to troubleshoot this issue as I don't have a miniVNA
standard with functional USB. I will receive one in a few days and as
soon as I will get it I will solve this for sure. I was convinced that
the USB/Serial implementation in miniVNA is the same as in miniVNA Pro,
but it seems that is not the case. As the miniVNA is recognized and you
are prompted to start BlueVNA this means that the same chip as in
miniVNA Pro is used, but something else is different.

Thank you for your understanding. Please be patient. It will work soon
with your miniVNA.

Hi Dan/All:
I understand it is very hard to troubleshoot via the internet.
I tried to be as detailed as I could to help with the debugging, that is what beta testing is all about.
You've done a great job, and I look forward to seeing the updated version for the Samsung Tab-2 and the VNA_standard soon.
I'll keep my eyes out for the update

Hi Mart,

The USB support for miniVNA standard is not yet fully tested. It may
work or may not. It was tested only on miniVNA Pro.
I will check this for the future version.
Most probable I have to update the USB/Serial library which was in an
earlier stage at that moment in time.

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.
