Prospect Research and Systems Analyst

The Prospect Research and Systems Analyst is an integral position on the Fund Development team and manages the research program and overall coordination and production of information on prospects and donors, and leverages the database to systematize the donor management process for GLIDE’s Comprehensive Campaign. Developing a strong understanding of GLIDE and its mission, values and goals is key in this role. Work responsibilities will occasionally require long days and/or evening or weekend work and holidays. Regular and predictable attendance is assumed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties can be assigned, and the duties and responsibilities of the job are subject to change without notice.

Assist in the preparation of  in-depth, confidential research profiles on individuals using a wide variety of biographical, organizational and other sources (prospect research tools, internet web sites, and other external sources of public information);
Assist the Campaign Manager in maintaining and updating a moves management system in Salesforce that drives mutually-agreed upon cultivation and solicitation strategies for campaign donors and prospects and facilitate its day-to-day functionality to ensure the tracking of follow-up activities to move prospects through the solicitation stages;
Work with the Campaign Manager to record all interactions, including meetings, phone calls, emails, mailings, etc. with campaign donors and prospects in Salesforce;
Provide informed and timely campaign and donor pipeline reports and revenue forecasts as needed;
Proactively identify comprehensive campaign prospects through research of prospective donors, corporations, and foundations, assessing financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and giving propensity and connections to GLIDE; establish and maintain a process for assignment of new campaign prospects;
Assist the Campaign Manager in the management of the Fund Development office’s prospect rating system and database entries to ensure that they are up-to-date, accurate and properly documented in Salesforce;
Coordinate research to ensure current biographical information is provided to Fund Development staff/other specified staff leadership attending GLIDE and other community events;
Work with specified Fund Development staff to acknowledge and track individual donors with timely letters and calls;
Research and maintain knowledge of fundraising best practices and industry benchmark data related to areas of focus for this position;
Attend select GLIDE donor cultivation and fundraising events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

3+ years of fund development experience in a non-profit setting or equivalent combination of education and experience;
BA degree preferred;
Experience with CRMs (Salesforce) highly preferred;
Experience with fundraising, campaigns and moves management preferred;
Strong knowledge of prospect research and tools.
 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Exceptionally strong communication skills. Has the ability to reduce large amounts of information/data to concise points;
Has the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with diverse groups.
Excellent written communication skills. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Editing and proofreading skills essential.
 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform mathematic calculations with speed and high degree of accuracy;
Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and other data found in reports relevant to programs or projects.
         

COMPUTER SKILLS:          

Salesforce (or CRM) experience strongly preferred;
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
Experience in prospect research tools (iWave, RelSci, NOZA, others) preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; can create slide decks for donor presentations and          utilize Excel for forecasting, budgeting, and pivot tables  
APRA (Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement) or CARA (California Advancement Researchers Association) a            plus

Requires ability to sit at keyboard for long periods of time (stationed at computer about 90% of work time);
This person must take frequent short breaks, integrate stretching into her/his daily duties to avoid musculoskeletal disorders;
Activities that occur frequently are: sitting, standing, walking, and handling. Activities that occur occasionally are: climbing staircases. Activities that occur infrequently are: bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, twisting, reaching straight, above, and below shoulder level, carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds.
