Getting Started with Dashboards

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a lot of conversations with people who want to start building dashboards but aren’t sure where to begin. For some, the new technology feels overwhelming. For others, they just haven't made the time to figure it out.

In April, we're hosting a series of Getting Started Skill Sprints designed to lower that barrier.

Each session is just 90 minutes. During it, we will focus on one popular dashboarding platform and walk through the fundamentals:

  • how to navigate the interface

  • how to connect your data

  • how to build your first visualization

The goal is simple: to help you take the first step. Once you know how to move around the platform and create a basic view, everything else becomes easier.

We’re offering three sessions this April:

  • Tableau: April 1st @ 2pm EST

  • Power BI: April 8th @ 1pm EST

  • Google's Looker Studio: April 15th @ 1:30pm EST

You do not need any prior experience or licenses. We will access Tableau and Looker Studio through free versions of the platforms. If you plan to attend the Power BI session, please ensure your Microsoft package includes Power BI.

If you’ve been meaning to try dashboarding but haven’t yet had the opportunity, this is the place to start.
