Technology Training Program Coordinator
Job Duties
JVS helps individuals build skills to enable our clients to find work in the Bay Area in Technology, Banking, Healthcare and other fields.
Our Technology Training programs provide clients with the skills needed to acquire jobs in the Bay Area technology arena and enable us to serve large numbers of clients. This position will play a key role by coordinating with Bay Area partner organizations
and employers to deliver job search and job placement services to eligible clients.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Program: Skills to Work (Technology)
Mission: Training and Placement of long-term unemployed in technology jobs
Principal Relationships:
- Reports to: Manager, Technology Programs
- Collaborates with: Program Coordinators, Program Directors and Managers, Workshop Facilitators, Community Partners, Outreach & Marketing Departments
- Supervises: None
Scope:
- Plan and execute strategies to partner with Bay Area community partners to identify, recruit and enroll job seekers in need of job search and job placement support
Coordinate logistics for our short-term intensive job search programs in the East Bay and all technology post-programming in San Francisco
- Deliver job search and job placement services to clients one-on-one and in a group setting
- Manage community partnerships
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
East Bay Business Administration Bootcamp Program Coordinator: 50%
- Plan and oversee our five-week Business Administration Bootcamp program for long-term unemployed jobseekers at partner locations in the East Bay (San Pablo, Oakland, and possibly others in the future)
- Promote JVS programs and services to diverse communities and audiences within partner communities, using online and in-person outreach and recruitment strategies; Lead and coordinate all in-person and online outreach activities
- Cultivate new and maintain existing relationships with community partners that serve as referral partners for JVS programs
- Collaborate with community partners to ensure job seekers experience a high quality and compassionate experience with JVS
- Provide vocational and employment services (job development, staffing, recruiting, placement & retention) to job seekers
- Manage clear and timely communications with community partners, job seekers, and employers
- Coordinate instructors and guest speakers for the Business Administration Bootcamp and work with instructors to improve or update curriculum as needed
Post-Program Coordinator/Case Manager In San Francisco: 50%
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate our post-program strategy for recent graduates of our Digital Marketing and Salesforce training programs at the JVS office in downtown San Francisco
- Deliver one-on-one and group job search and placement services to recent graduates
- Work with other Technology Program Coordinators and Employer Engagement Manager to identify appropriate next steps for each participant as they approach graduation from the training programs
- Provide material review online and in class during the Digital Marketing and Salesforce training programs in collaboration with our Lead Instructor
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
- This position will be working in a typical office setting, with no extremes in temperature or lighting.
- Able to travel and present at offsite locations in the Bay Area
- Able to transport/carry presentation materials
