Hello College Success Friends,

Our Fellowship program is recruiting now! If you have awesome undergrads who could use a little extra funding this upcoming year and are interested in service-learning in education, please send them our way. We're interested in all majors and future professions. If they think STEM learning should be a catalyst for instead of a barrier to future success, they'll fit right in.

For questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at ap...@elevatetutoring.org or by phone at 408.915.8874. Applicants should read the eligibility guidelines carefully and reach out if they are unsure.

Catherine

Hello Friends,

We are thrilled to announce that our applications are open for our Fellowship in Education! Please share widely with any local college students interested in becoming education changemakers.

Our Fellows receive $8,000 for completing a total of 210 community service and training hours. Fellows also access career coaching, wellness workshops, and individualized academic support on their college journey. You can download the 2025 Application flyer and other materials here to share with all first-generation, Bay Area college students in your network. The program is open to ALL majors. Applications are due by June 23rd, 2025.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Be a current full-time undergraduate college student with 1+ years left until graduation
  • Attend school within easy driving distance of San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, or Berkeley
  • Qualify as low-income (check here)
  • Have at least $8,000 of unmet cost-of-attendance between now and graduation
  • Commit to at least 6 hours/wk for the duration of the Fellowship
  • Commit to a 2-day in-person preservice training retreat in August 2025 (8am August 16th to 6pm August 17th, 2025)
  • Be a strong student, with a history of As and Bs in math and science

To apply, visit: https://elevatetutoring.org/apply. The application takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete thoughtfully and we encourage applicants not to overthink it. Clear, concise, and honest responses are the goal.

Want to learn more? Have questions? Join us for an info session on Friday, June 20th at 9:30am. (Register here.)

Please note that these are open to all and will be hosted on Zoom. If you would like an info session for your students, reach out to us to schedule an alternate event.

We LOVE questions. Potential applicants should freely contact us if they are unsure of their eligibility, encounter challenges with the application, or would like a better understanding of the Fellowship experience.

Please reach out to us at ap...@elevatetutoring.org anytime.

Hello College Success Friends,

Our Fellowship program is extending our deadline to July 11th! We're especially interested in sophomores and juniors from SFSU, SJSU, CSUEB, or USF, but will continue to accept applications from all eligible East Bay, South Bay, and SF/Peninsula students. If you have awesome undergrads who could use a little extra funding this upcoming year and are interested in service-learning in education, please send them our way. We're interested in all majors and future professions. If they think STEM learning should be a catalyst for instead of a barrier to future success, they'll fit right in.

Please note that all funding goes through financial aid; work authorization is not required. But if it were a job, the equivalent hourly rate would be about $38/hr. Plus, we design our calendars around the college academic cycles and have wraparound coaching to ease the post-graduation transition for our Fellows. AND there's a travel stipend to help offset the cost to go out and volunteer. We know that young people want to serve, but also have many demands on their time and energy. Please help us find the students you know could be changemakers if only someone cleared the path for them.
