Hi there YNPN,

In the latest episode of the Nonprofit Science Podcast, I tackle the question: Are your thank-you letters working?

Sending a thank-you letter within two to three days of receiving a gift is the best practice for our sector. But, the research tells us a thank you letter is just one tool in your gratitude toolbox. Moreover, if we're trying to encourage future giving, it may not even be the most effective tool.

A few things you'll learn from this episode:
💡 Why thank-you letters have the biggest impact on one specific group of donors (and less effect on others)
💡 The psychological mechanism driving repeat giving (and how to leverage it)
💡 The type of recognition that can damage donor relationships

Plus, practical strategies you can put into action right away.

You can also find the show on Apple and Spotify.

And, if you want the latest evidence-backed tips to grow your impact, subscribe to my weekly newsletter, The Nonprofit Scientist.

I hope you enjoy the episode!

Warmly,
Sheela Mahajan
