Will you, organizations, businesses & government officials you know endorse CART (Community Alternative Response Team)? It is a community-based alternative to the police response to homelessness. Here are current endorsements and they're growing all the time.

Its origins are in the police reform working groups, moving to a resolution at the Police Commission, a huge community input process, a survey, and more! It is shameful to me that government ASKED for this, worked through the process, and now is not behind it.

If you can, endorse and join the campaign!

If you need more info, let me know if you want a community presentation about CART. I'd be happy to answer questions for individuals and other groups / businesses who might endorse.

Right now there is a push to influence the Mayor in social media & there will be more:

Two asks...

1) AGAIN - many groups & individuals have endorsed CART as a community-based alternative to police response to homelessness. We want the Mayor & Board of Supervisors to ensure it is in the SF budget being finalized this month. We’re asking everyone to endorse this program now. Ask groups you know to fill out this form to add their endorsement. CART would be happy to give a presentation about it & answer questions to groups you’re part of. Contact ca...@cohsf.org for a presentation.

2)  NEW - tomorrow we’re asking you to submit written comment in advance to the clerk John Carroll john.c...@sfgov.org and to call in public comment to the Thursday, June 10 Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee Meeting starting at 10am, in which they’ll consider endorsing CART as a board. See the talking points link & the image below.

At the hearing (starting at 10am) some of our CART representatives will give a 10 minute presentation about CART to the Committee members. Later (we don't know the exact time) there will be an opportunity for public comment in support of funding CART - which is where we need your turn out! I will send reminders for when public comment starts!
