Hi Friends,

If you have students in your networks who are interested in education systems, especially the nonprofit side, we'd love to meet them. All future careers are welcome. Most applicants have an interest in healthcare, education, youth development, or public policy. The $8,500 works out to just over $40/hr for program participation, paid through scholarships (i.e. work authorization is irrelevant). Happy to answer questions about the program or eligibility, just reach out!

All the best,
Catherine

Hello Friends,

We are thrilled to announce that our applications are open for our Fellowship in Education! Please share widely with any local college students interested in changing the face of education through hands-on academic coaching.

Our Fellows receive $8,500 for completing a total of 210 community service and training hours. Fellows also access career coaching, wellness workshops, and individualized academic support on their college journey. You can download the 2026 Application flyer and other materials here to share with Bay Area college students in your network. The program is open to ALL majors. Applications are due by June 17, 2026.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • A current full-time undergraduate college student with 1+ years left until graduation.
  • Live or attend school within close driving distance of San Jose, San Francisco, Berkeley, or Oakland.
  • Qualify as low-income (check here).
  • Have at least $8,500 of unmet cost-of-attendance for the remainder of your college time.
  • Can commit to 6-10 hours/wk of classroom time for the duration of the fellowship. This typically requires at least two free mornings or a full day each week (ex: 9-12 Mondays and Wednesdays OR 9-3pm Thursdays).
  • Can commit to a 20-hour in-person pre-service training in August 2026. (August 15th 8am to August 16th 6pm. Lodging and transportation assistance are available.)
  • A strong student, with a history of As and Bs in math and science.

To apply, visit: https://elevatetutoring.org/apply. The application takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete thoughtfully, and we encourage applicants not to overthink it. Clear, concise, and honest responses are the goal. Preview the questions here.

Hear first hand from our recent alums why this Fellowship is right for you!
