Position Summary

The User Experience Team within the Technology team seeks an entry level Email Assistant to help execute LEE’s national, regional, and team-based email campaigns and strategies to engage over 35,000+ LEE members. The Assistant will execute all LEE email for both national and regional teams by setting up HTML emails in LEE’s email platform, Pardot, and building lists within Pardot or LEE’s database system, Salesforce, to import into/sync with Pardot. This person will also help the Email Manager manage email subscription and suppression lists and maintain data integrity in LEE’s email platforms. The Assistant will work closely with the communications team and other team’s at LEE who create email content to ensure emails go out by their intended timeline with appropriate formatting to the correctly targeted audience.


Responsibilities:

  • Layout and Sending Emails (80%):
    • Laying out emails in templates and sending on behalf of LEE teams;
    • Building lists within Pardot or using LEE’s database system, Salesforce, to import lists;
    • Finding and/or designing images, photos and graphics for emails; and
    • Ensuring all digital content maintains LEE’s brand and follows best practices for mass email.
  • Process & System Support (10%):
    • Working with LEE teams in diverse regions to ensure emails are deployed by intended timeline with appropriate formatting to the correctly targeted list;
    • Helping respond to support tickets and troubleshoot errors related to LEE’s emails;
    • Communicating effectively with LEE Email Manager, Communications Team and other team’s about requirements, turnaround times and capacity related to email sends.
  • List Management, Data Integrity, Database Administration (10%):
    • Helping Email Manager maintain lists in Pardot to align with opt-in, privacy and other legal/organizational policies;
    • Helping manage subscription and suppression email lists;
    • Helping perform daily, weekly and/or monthly data audits and data integrity upkeep within LEE’s email platforms.

Position Location Details:  Denver, CO (strongly preferred) or Washington, DC


Travel Requirements:  10%


Work Hours:  Flexible hours, with occasional weekends and evenings required; expected full time temporary work throughout 2017 with potential for permanent hire

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • One year of experience using an email marketing platform; website layout experience will be considered if strong database experience
  • Basic database management knowledge
  • Desire to grow technical expertise in list management, segmentation and automation
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent organization skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to balance extreme attention to detail with swift execution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to set and consistently meet deadlines and commitments
  • Ability to create meaningful partnerships with other staff
  • Positive attitude with team-minded mentality
  • Ability to support and actively build an office culture dedicated to superior customer service that exceeds staff expectations
  • Comfort using virtual means of communication to collaborate in a geographically dispersed organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Experience using a marketing automation platform for dynamic content, A/B testing, and/or building nurture campaigns
  • Basic graphic design skills
