Assalam-u-Aliekum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatuh,

You have probably heard about this even at city college this coming Thursday at 5:30p.m. but did you ask yourself "WHY SHOULD I GO?" "WHATS THERE FOR ME?" "HOW CAN THIS HELP ME?" If you didn't then you need to.

I did and wanted to share them with you. I think-actually I KNOW you are gonna walk out of there different than you walked in. And here are some more reasons:

1. If there is absolutely nothing else, the no. 1 reason I am looking forward to is the boost in my imaan that I will and everyone else will surely for being in the company of all the other ilm-seeking brothers and sisters. You can remember the strange emptiness you felt last time you left from a halaqah or an event, thats because your heart could feel the absence of the tranquility, mercy, and protective cover of angels that Allah sent. You wanna feel it again? You know what to do.

2. Parents? What can I possibly learn new about this? the bottom line is gonna be "BE GOOD TO YOUR PARENTS" I dont need to travel and spend all that time to come to that conclusion. BUT there are alot of things we know and constant reminder helps us put them into practice. Thats what you will get here, with ayaat, and stories of relationship with parents good and bad, this WILL HELP YOU CLAMP DOWN YOUR TEETH, AND GET THE MILK AT YOUR MOM'S REQUEST EVEN THOUGH YOU JUST GOT HOME AND ARE REALLY TIRED.

3. What if you are already good to your parents? I am sure you know somebody else who isnt. Maybe one of your siblings needs some help in that department or a friend or maybe your children if you are a parent. Coming to this even will help you talk to them in a way other than the same old boring way you have always tried but never succeeded with.

4. Do you live a boring routine of work, school and home? What dont you switch it a little, travel, get rewards every step of the way, seek knowledge about this very very important topic that Allah mentions right after Worshipping him alone 4 times in the quran. Learn Why?

5. Just think about this deeply: "When a mother bird comes back home after a long shift of looking for food for the kids, out of deep love and mercy and from fear of harm, she covers the cute little choo-chooing kids with her wings and provides them warmth and her love." What an amazing picture. Allah tells us to lower the wings of mercy onto our parents. Do you see where I am going? Do you see how we are supposed to behave with our parents? In this event, you will learn how this translate into actual practical actions, If I were you, I wouldnt miss out.

6. If you don't come to this event, what will you be doing? Seriously think about it. You know after people die and are presented their deeds, they would wish that they could come back and change every second they spent not worshiping Allah. But who can constantly read Quran and stand in prayer? We are human beings and its hard and we loose focus. But if we go to seek knowledge the second we leave home until the second we enter, as long as we are not committing a sin, we are actually worshiping Allah even though we might be reading the newspaper sitting in the train or idly sitting in the Aronow theater waiting for the event to start.

7. You know what a Super Tuesday is? Back in February, there were 22 states having their primaries on that day-so many big events in one day-thus came the Super Tuesday. How about you design a Super Thurday. How? You fast in the morning, pray all your salawaay on time, come and seek knowledge at CCNY Wings of Mercy Event and give some sadaqah, increase your imaan in the company of all the good brothers and sisters and make dhikr on the way and back and that will be the best day you have had since Ramadan ended. Imagine the amount of writing the angels would have to do for you.

I hope you have decided to come, and if you didn't, well-forget about all that thinking, if its something good, we should just do it. Imagine if Abu Bakr (raa) took time to think about becoming muslim? He didnt, and thats what earned him the very special status he had that he didnt even take any time to become muslim when it was presented to him. Lets be like Abu Bakr. LETS DO IT!!!!!

Please forward this as many people as you can and get rewarded for whoever comes from them.

Assalam-u-Aliekum
