Bismillah...
Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh,
I apologize in advance for the long email but please read through ...
I wanted to share something with you all. The Institute of Islamic Sciences is starting up again. For those of you who do not know what it is. It is a 2 year tafseer course. You will go through the tafseer of the entire Quran. Along with that you will go through the explanation of Arbaeen AnNawawi (40 hadith of Imam Nawawi). Learn the Rules of Tajweed, memorize Juz 'Amma. And Learn Arabic Grammar.
This course in an AMAZING course mashaAllah. Trust me when I say you don't want to miss out. I myself attended and completed this course walhamdulillah, and after completing it I realize how much it did for me and how much I miss it. Wallahi during this course you will build such a strong relationship with the Quran that once you are about to complete the course tears will come to your eyes because you will fear if your connection to the Qur'an will remain as strong, afterwards. I HIGHLY recommend taking this course when else will you have a chance to learn the tafseer of the entire Qur'an ... so who amongst you want be from Ashaabul Qur'an (Companions of the Qur'an)???
I know for some of you it is too far, but the scholars of the past would travel half way across the world sometimes on foot, to seek one hadith. Then what is a measly 1 hour car ride or 2 hour train ride.
A man came to Abu Darda (ra) while he was in Damascus. Abu Darda asked him, "What has brought you here my brother?" He replied, "A hadith which you relate from the Prophet (saw)." Abu Darda asked, "Have you come for some worldly need?" He replied, "No." "You have come only to seek this hadith?" He replied, "Yes." Abu Darda then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) say:
"He who treads a path in search of knowledge, Allaah will make easy for him a path from the paths of Paradise. The angels lower their wings for the student of knowledge in approval of what he does. All the creatures in the heavens and earth, and even the fish in the depths of the water, seek forgiveness for the scholar. The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon at night over the rest of the stars. Indeed the scholars are the heirs to the prophets. Surely, the prophets did not bequeath deenaars or dirhams. They left behind knowledge, so whoever takes it, has indeed acquired a huge fortune." (Al-Musnad 5/196, Aboo Daawood 3/317, At-Tirmidhee 5/49, Ibn Maajah 1/81, Ad-Daarimee 1/98)
