Dear Colleagues –
I hope that this email finds you well – and enjoying a busy fall term. I am writing to request that you circulate the attached advertisement for an open postdoctoral position to anyone whom you think may be interested. Please also see the bottom of this message for a potential second opportunity.
I am seeking a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in discrete element method simulations to work on a project related to the interaction of granular materials with continuum surfaces. The position offers significant possibilities for professional development, including mentored teaching opportunities, development of research skills, technical writing, and the grant application process, all as appropriate and of interest to the selected candidate. I will also endeavor to provide the scholar with an opportunity to serve as a research mentor to a funded B.S. or M.S. student. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of reappointment.
I am additionally hoping to advertise for a second postdoctoral position in the coming weeks. That position will be in the area of MICP for soil stabilization. If you know of candidates who might be a good fit for this (as yet unannounced) position, please encourage them to contact me informally for a preliminary discussion.
Thank you all, in advance, for your help.
Matt
