i'm goin down to the pie this weekend for the wife's graduation...any recommendations for places/restaurants to check out?

salaam jibs.  my favorite restaurant down there would have to be either the taco bell or the mcdonalds.  many good times were had there. however, since most people do not agree with that.  most people like the following:

Za's: its on green street-real good pasta there.

there is some chaptu food on University ave right next to the hospital, i forgot the name, but it was pretty good

Nero's-possibly halal gyros. decent, cant really sit and eat

papa del's-real good pizza place, better pizza than geordanos. i would rec you go to this place, its good to sit down, and food is good. 

honestly can think of more, most of my meals there were either taco bell, mcdonalds, or neros, but none of those are really classy places.

No spelling mistake. Ohop is a good place for breakfast. They close by 1pm however

Guys, these are cool, but it makes it seem like all Urbana-Champaign has to offer are chain restaurants (Original House of Pancakes, Perkins, etc.)

Are there any high rated non-franchise places to eat there?

Jibran, try yelp or other search options. Maybe even Chow.com.

There's Pasha's on prospect a middle eastern joint,

There's a sushi place in downtown champaign called Kofusion, the spelling might be off for the sushi joint
