Abdullah’s Surgery

Assalaamu alaykum,

Hope everyone’s Ramadan is going well!

I’d like to ask for you to pray for our son Abdullah’s open heart surgery on Thursday, September 1st, 2011.

As some of you may know, he was born with a large hole in his heart (VSD). Although he’s been doing great with it, it caused his aorta to slump into itself (prolapse).

To make sure he has a healthy heart for the rest of his life, the doctors have scheduled surgery for him this September.

The procedure takes three hours, and recovery time in the hospital is three to four days, insha’Allah (Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL near Bridgeview). He’ll be eleven months at the time.

Throughout this month and the last 10 nights, please pray for him and for his parents, as well.

It will be from around 11am to around 5pm with at least five day stay in the hospital.

Alhamdulillah, the surgery was a success and Abdullah is back home and healing fast (took only 3 days in the hospital instead of 5, masha’Allah).
