Crafco Asphalt Rubber Plus Type 2 sealant is a hot-applied asphalt based product used to seal and fill cracks or joints in asphalt or Portland cement concrete pavements in moderate to cold climates. Asphalt Rubber Plus Type 2 is supplied in solid form which when melted and properly applied forms a highly adhesive and flexible compound that resists cracking in the winter and resists flow at summer temperatures. Asphalt Rubber Plus Type 2 is used in highway, street, and airfield pavements and is applied to pavement cracks or joints using pressure feed melter applicators. Asphalt Rubber Plus Type 2 contains a minimum of 18% recycled rubber by weight of asphaltic components which increases application temperature viscosity and reduces flow and slump during application. Asphalt Rubber Plus Type 2 has been a quality Crafco product for over 15 years and has proven to be a top performing crack sealant in cold climates. Several states and Canadian provinces have adopted specifications based on its exceptional performance. VOC = 0g/l.

Our additives cost up to 15% less per ton and allow up to a 50% reduction in modifier costs. Plus, SmartMIX increases the life of pavement, which further reduces maintenance needs and investments over time.

SmartMIX is available in 2,000-pound bulk bags as a dry powder and is compatible with warm-mix processes and traditional paving equipment and field-mix operations. It works with any mix design, including dense grade, and is compatible with most common asphalt binders, additives and liquid agents.

In addition to driveways, parking lots, overlay programs and highways, SmartMIX can also be leveraged in porous asphalt designs to control stormwater runoff utilizing the area under the pavement instead of an open basin. This can eliminate the need for retention basins outside of paved areas.

The Targel Plus Rubberized Polymer Additive is a multi-dimensional additive that greatly enhances the overall performance of a pavement sealer. Designed to meet FAA specifications for pavement sealer additives, this product helps improve gas, fuel and oil resistance. It suspends and locks in sand for better dispersion. Targel Plus toughens and rubberizes the sealer for added strength and flexibility. This additive also aids in reducing scuffing and power steering marks on the asphalt surface, while creating a blacker finish.

Asphalt is the common term referring to a mixture of aggregate materials and oil heated and mixed together. Asphalt is installed and compacted while still hot and is primarily used for driveway, parking lots, street and highway surfaces. It is utilized in a range of different applications because it is strength, durability and cost effectiveness.

Asphalt pavement is the choice for parking lots, streets and driveways because - with proper application and and maintenance, it can withstand heavy loads and last for many years. (read more and contact us for a quote)

Asphalt paving is a critical facet of a structured and organized parking lot. Yet, as time goes by, the condition of the sealant or paint on the driveway may start to fade and wear away, making it look old or dirty.

The contractor, A. Waggershauser Straenbau GmbH + Co. KG, based in Kirchheim/Teck, won the bid for a job requiring compliance with the QSBW 4.0 standards for the improvement of process quality in road construction. The project involved the rehabilitation of a section of the L1150, a regional road in the municipality of Baltmannsweiler. The 4 cm-thick surface course had to be renewed along a 2.1 km stretch.

Invitations to tender based on QSBW 4.0 criteria require the inclusion of all the system components associated with a digitally controlled and monitored job site as defined by the QSBW 4.0 initiative. Specifically, these include dynamic logistics and machine control systems, as well as process documentation.

The objective of QSBW 4.0 is an uninterrupted and digitally controlled construction process designed to ensure excellent paving quality over the entire pavement, increasing the service life of asphalt layers.

Temperature measurements are the focus of the quality control measures specified in QSBW 4.0. Because asphalt can only be paved and compacted in specific temperature ranges, the mix temperature must be monitored during loading, transfer to the paver and paving across the entire surface behind the screed.

The same applies to WITOS Paving Analysis, the fifth module of the VGELE process management solution. This analysis, statistics and documentation tool monitors the entire process chain. The clearly structured diagrams and charts enable the construction manager or planning engineer to draw important conclusions from a completed construction project, for instance relating to the paving efficiency.

Analysis of the job site in Baltmannsweiler clearly demonstrated the benefits of digital process control. Thanks to perfect cycle calculation and optimization of the paving job, paving efficiency when laying down the surface course totalled 99%.
