Hello Classmates,

I trust your 4th of July celebrations were both happy and safe.  Just wanted to bring to your attention that there will be a significant change in the schedule of Salsa class going forward for the summer of 2024.  Marlene will have a 2 hour class on Friday, July 5, from 7-9pm, and a one hour class on Tuesday July 8, from 8 - 9p. After that date, there will be no further classes scheduled until September'24!

In the interim, there are several outdoor Latin dance events scheduled, that I will try and share in this space.  If readers are aware of additional happenings, I hope you will share them here for others to see.  The following events are FREE unless otherwise indicated. Note some events occur weekly!

July 5 @ 7pm - 11:30pm | Weekly - Fridays
Industry City - Barrow’s Intense – Courtyard 5/6, 237 36th St, Brooklyn,  NY 11232, USA

Carlos Konig Summer Socials @ The Central Park Bandshell ( for location see previous email)
Friday       7/12            5 -8pm
Saturday   8/24            5-8pm
Friday        9/13            5-8pm

Wednesday  July 10 - July 11 @ 8:30p -12:30a |  Weekly Event
33 Lafayette Ave, Bklyn, NY 11217     Across the street from Brooklyn Academy of Music

Sunset Salsa with  Talia and Friends
Thursdays - Weekly thru August     6:30 - 9:00p
Pier 76
408 12th Avenue West, New York, NY 10018 (34th St Pier) Off of 12 Ave - Behind Jacob Javits
Very popular event that you should try and make at least once this summer!

Thursday, July 18 2024    6:30 ~ 9p
Summer For The City at Lincoln Center: Jeremy Bosch & his Orchestra ( This is a dance event )
Josie Robertson Plaza
Many will confuse him with Jimmy Bosch (as I did) so the place may be packed.  This is the vocalist not the trombone player

Hey Maurice,

I received 7 requests for addition to the class list.  That count includes you, if I interpreted the email correctly, although I thought you were already on the list.
If I have misread the message and you are already on, no worries.  If in fact you are asking to be on the list, you would need to send me your email address, as the message sent was through the group account and didn't include your actual email address.

Although email addresses were sent, I am not sure the names to which they belong are associated.  Not to worry, this can be sorted out later; the emails will go through.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

I am already on the list. I was using the email to forward you requests from the other six people to be added to the group account. Other than Sean Fowler you'll have to contact them directly to get their actual names (although some seem to be obvious from their emails).

M.

Greetings,

I am REsending this for the benefit of new members to the email list, as this mail contains some upcoming events.  In addition, I ran into a long time classmate ( the other Alan )  who informed me of this event scheduled for tonight at the Museum of Natural History.   You might be able to make both this and Carlos Konig's social at the Bandshell across from the fountain in Central Park from 5 - 8p tonight.  It's only one subway stop away on the C train if memory serves me correctly.   See you on the dance floor.....
