Hello Classmates,

Well, the summer is winding down and you may have noticed a bit of relief from the here-to-fore scorching daytime temperatures.   But, there's a little left (queda poco), so let's make the most of it.  In the spirit of celebration, I was hoping  the class might get together to help celebrate Marlene's upcoming birthday!

Some may know that on Thursdays Marline hosts the festivities at Time Out Market, 55 Water St. 11201, in Dumbo on the 5^th Floor.

Salsa Thursdays - Time Out Market New York Get your salsa on for free every Thursday from 6:30-9:30pm on the fifth floor of the Time Out Market. Instructor Marlene Veras will lead you through the steps to beats by percussionist Ronnie Roc for a solid foundation before you break out into a full-on salsa dance party with tunes from DJ Ray Suave. ¡Bailemos! www.timeoutmarket.com

The activities are free, and the setting is quite enjoyable.  One or two of us have acknowledged our birthdays there in the past.  It would be a great opportunity to see familiar faces and catch up, for both the newer students as well as  the veterans from years back.

So, I'm callin' y'all out..., Will, Amy, Karen, Chris, Koko, and everybody else who we haven't seen or heard from in a minute.

Thanks for the replies thus far.  The class Marlene conducts starts at 6:30, and the social dancing begins maybe 45 minutes after.  Everyone is busy, so I wouldn't want to be too strict with the timing.  It would be nice if everyone could be there by 8p.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for sharing Rob.

 Just an update about the salsa event hosted 

by Time Out. 

•6:30pm Dj plays music for 30 minutes; anyone is welcome to social dance during this time.

•7:00-7:30pm I teach a basic salsa lesson (sometimes salsa on 1 or on 2 or both styles).

• 7:30pm floor is open to social dance again. 

DJ usually plays salsa, bachata, merengue+ music until 9:30pm.

Looking forward to dance with anyone who can attend!

*Note: I will arrive to Timeout around 6:55pm.
