Reminders and Easy Links for Lent

Dear YKUC Friends:

Thanks to Dawn McInnes and our amazing worship team for yesterday's beautiful service for "Ash Wednesday on Sunday." Deep thanks also are due to Marg Henderson, our powerhouse of a treasurer who expertly guided us through our congregation's financial picture at our Annual Financial Meeting. And to our Techmaster, Sean Daly, thank you for making worship come alive on the screen! When I tell friends about our unusual "commuting" ministry, I often get asked, "But what do they do when you're not there?" The answer is so easy: YKUC has INCREDIBLE volunteers. Yesterday was a marathon, and you stickhandled it all with grace and poise. Thank you to everyone who made it possible. 

Just a couple of quick reminders about events coming up for the first week in Lent:

Pancakes! Tuesday, February 17th, 5:30-7pm in the auditorium. $8 for all you can eat, which is obviously the best deal in town, when you consider that there are multiple types of pancakes and multiple flavours of syrup. I'll be partaking with my parents at Erindale United Church, and I will provide my review in due course. 

Lunch! Wednesday, February 18th, noon at Holy Trinity. The first Lenten Lunch of the season, sponsored by the YK Ministerial. Rev. Whitney DeWare will offer the devotional. 

Prayers! Starting Wednesday, February 18th: evening prayers at 8pm MT - Prayer Link (every night in Lent except Sundays)

Books! Starting Wednesday, February 25th at 7pm MT: Lenten Study on Anna Sale's Let's Talk About Hard Things (every Wednesday for 5 weeks) - Study Group Link
