Dear friends and siblings at Yellowknife United Church

A short note from Bev to tell you how delighted I am to be serving among
you. I’ll be here now until the end of September, and then again for
Advent and Christmas. I’m looking forward to working and worshipping
with you. We’re going to have fun. I can just tell. I also need to say
that it’s a total blessing for me to be working with Alison. She and I
work well together (you should listen in on our planning sessions
sometime!!) She’s gifted and called and chosen, as the hymn says, and
all of you make a powerful team, it seems to me. It’s my pleasure to do
what I can to help out.

Thank you so much for your kindness to me since I’ve been here. I won’t
name people, because for sure I’ll miss someone, but you’ve reached out
to me with practical help in lots of ways, with gifts of garden
vegetables, drives, putting up the clothesline (one of my very favourite
things to do is to do laundry and hang it on the line – it’s a thing
with me!) For all your generosity and kindness I say thank you and thank
you again.

The kids at church on Sunday made some blank cards (good job, kids and
Janice and Laurie!!). We’re going to use them when we know of someone
who might be sad or ill, or needing a reminder that they are loved. If
you know of someone like that, the kids’ cards are available. I’ve got
them at home right now but I’ll leave them in the church.

I know this is in the newsletter elsewhere but just to remind you, I’ll
be keeping office hours at the church from 10-noon on Tuesdays and
Fridays. My cell number is 867 334 6606 and my email is
bcsbr...@live.ca. Feel free to contact me during office hours or
outside of them. I’d love to get to know you.

I wish you blessing upon blessing as we move into the autumn. May it be
for the world a turning of seasons too, toward the justice and peace
that is God’s dream, intent, and call.

In gratitude

Bev
