📌
Washer/ Dryer:  We have been generously gifted a new washer and dryer for the manse, so we are paying it forward with the old ones.  It’s an older set, a top load washer and standard dryer, but it works well.  If you could use it, or have family or friends that are in need, please let Terrilyn (terrily...@theedge.caknow.   You will just need to arrange to have them picked up.

RED BINS - Help is needed to collect from the Co-op for the month of August and into the fall.  If you are able to help, please let Terrilyn (terrily...@theedge.ca) know or speak to her after church.

📌 The United Church of Canada will offer an historic apology (https://united-church.ca/news/2s-and-lgbtqia-apology-church-church?utm_source=E-Newsletters&utm_campaign=23d9acc229-ES_250311_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-3c3b6f8241-189548375&goal=0_53a49c9e28-23d9acc229-189548375&mc_cid=23d9acc229&mc_eid=UNIQID) for ways in which the denomination has hurt and harmed 2S and LGBTQIA+ communities within and beyond the United Church. The apology will take place in the context of a special livestreamed worship service on Friday, August 8. The service will be held at Knox United Church, 506 4 St. SW, Calgary, Alberta at 9:00 am MT.
The service is open to anyone who would like to attend in person; it will also be available on Zoom, with interpretation in English and French. Register here(opens in a new tab) (https://united-church.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5bmmHb7SXqiSDA_83RONw#/registration). Online participants are invited to have a bowl of water and branches with them, for a blessing at the end.
📌 NOTE FROM STEWARDSHIP:   The furnace at the manse is being replaced this summer.  If you are able, please make a donation to
the Capital fund to help cover the costs of this work.

📌 Yellowknife United Church will be sponsoring two community Christmas Bazaars on November 15 and December 6, 2025.  If you are interested in booking a table for this event or know someone who is, please email Marg Henderson (ma...@theedge.ca) for more information.

📌 Mission & Service:   Wonder and Worship in the Wilderness
United Church camps create space for children and youth to grow in faith, friendship, and love for the earth. Among whispering trees and winding trails, young hearts open to wonder, discovery, and connection.  At Cave Springs Camp in Beamsville, Ontario, that’s exactly what happens. Nestled along the beautiful Niagara Escarpment, campers leave behind the noise of everyday life to discover something deeper: a sense of belonging in nature and with each other.  Surrounded by birdsong, rustling leaves, and forest paths, the campgrounds come alive with joyful discovery. A camper excitedly shouts, “I found a salamander!” bringing others running in awe. Even something as simple as a uniquely shaped rock becomes a shared moment of intrigue and delight.
These moments matter. Whether singing around a campfire, engaging in outdoor activities, gathering for meals, or sharing quiet reflection during evening worship, children at Cave Springs form lasting bonds. They gain confidence, feel seen, and discover what it means to be part of a caring community, held by both people and creation.
This kind of connection can change lives. It encourages gratitude, deepens compassion, and nurtures a love for the Earth that lasts long after camp ends.
Thanks to your support of Mission and Service, these life-giving experiences continue, not only at Cave Springs, but at all United Church camps. You are helping young people grow in spirit, courage, and care. Thank you.
