Please mark June 7 in your calendar! We will be celebrating a special
Service of Covenanting between Yellowknife United Church, Rev. Alison
Mock and Northern Spirit Regional Council. This is our formal commitment
as we move forward together in relationship with each other and with
God. Rev. Shannon McCarthy (our locum minister in January, 2024) will be
here to represent the Regional Council and our dear friend Rev. Bev
Brazier will be here to lead the service. Worship will commence at 10:00
am (as will all services going forward for the summer) and will be
followed by a potluck brunch.

TRC Event -Please mark your calendars for Monday, June 8th, 2026, for a
special TRC event. There will be a consecration ceremony of the TRC
(Yellowknife) monument at the chosen location, just near to the large
playground beside Somba K'e Park/City Hall. Start time is tentatively
planned for 11am and will be confirmed closer to the event. Please join us!

If you are able to help out, please let Terrilyn or Marg know.
Summer can be a busy time and if you would like to help but spend
weekends at the cabin or campground, that’s ok. We have volunteers who
can help out on weekends.
Remember that if you have students needing Community Service hours, this
is eligible. If you don’t have a car but would like to help, we can find
you a partner with a vehicle that just needs an extra pair of hands.
Many hands make light work and we appreciate your help on this
worthwhile project that contributes to the life and work of the church.

Thank you from the Stewardship committee.

Mission and Service Story:
Belonging without Barriers

Every child should be able to experience the joys of camp: laughing
around a fire, trying something new, and feeling the joy of community.

But for some children, camp is not always accessible. When needs are
more complex, when extra care, training, or equipment is required,
families can be left wondering if there is a place where their child
will be able to participate and truly belong.

Through Mission and Service partners, that answer is yes.

At Pearce Williams Summer Camp & Retreat Facility, inclusion is part of
the foundation. Staff are specially trained. Adaptive and sensory
supports are built into the experience. Care is taken to ensure that
every camper can participate fully and safely.

At Pearce Williams, inclusion is more than access. It is about belonging
without barriers. Children are not sitting on the sidelines, but fully
part of camp life, joining in the singing, swimming, creating, and
connecting alongside others. It means families can trust that their
children are not just welcomed, but fully supported.

Our gifts to Mission and Service help make this possible. They provide
the tools, training, and care needed to ensure no child is turned away
because their needs complex.

Every child deserves a place at camp, and every child deserves to know
they belong. Make your gift(opens in a new tab) to Mission and Service
today.
