Hi YKUC Friends,

We are one week into our 40-day journey through Lent. It's already been a rich and reflective time. I have been loving the practice of gathering online for 10 minutes of evening prayer. It's not a big commitment or a lengthy meeting, but those few minutes of slowing down and sharing the concerns of our hearts with God and one another has been grounding and sacred.

If you haven't yet joined us, why not tonight? The link is the same each night:

Tonight at 7pm MT, we also begin our Lenten Book study, taking a look at Anna Sale's Let's Talk About Hard Things. This is a book of 5 traditionally difficult conversations: Death, Sex, Money, Family, and Identity. We'll approach the book roughly in order, meaning that tonight's discussion will be about conversations about Death. Because evening prayers start at 8pm, we will limit our time to an hour. The link is here:

If you haven't had a chance to get the book, or haven't read it yet, that's okay! You're more than welcome to attend. You can also join the discussion any week, you don't have to commit to reading the entire book. Anna Sale is the host of a great podcast called Death, Sex and Money. You can definitely check out one of her latest death-related episodes as a way to prepare for tonight, if you can't get to the book in time.

You are reminded as well that Lenten Lunches are happening each Wednesday at noon at Holy Trinity Church. Today's lunch is hosted by Yellowknife Alliance Church, and the devotional will be offered by Pastor Steve Swan.

Finally, a few of you have asked for links to sermons from the last two Sundays. Here they are:

See you tonight at 7pm or 8pm!

Blessings,
Alison
