Hi YK Democrats-

As the Statewide Party Organizer I was wondering what are some of the
issues or areas of concern that you want to address or move toward
action?

Thanks-

Hello
I am just trying to get the democratic party more active and organized here. At this point I want to hear from the members to see what they consider important. I would like to get some coordination so that there would be some support for any candidates who want to campaign here.
Any ideas? All help is appreciated!

Hi Dave,

In my mind 3 things need to be addressed:
Fundraising advise/help
Improved communications with the State org
Updated list of Dist 38 Dems in PDF format

As you may know, Mary Weiss was the only person who attended the State
Convention from Dist 38. (I was not able to afford it myself and others
I know would have gone if they could. I attended the last 2
conventions.) Mary is the regional rep now and we've been talking about
ways to have more participation in the YK Delta. Folks here are so
spread out geographically and even today not everyone has email, so
communication is more difficult.

As long as I have your ear(s), I am wondering if there is ever money to
bring Native Alaskans to Conventions? We can fund raise in Bethel with
bake sales, fiddle dances etc., but that won't send all our reps to
conventions and most folks in the Delta don't have enough disposable
income to pay to attend conventions themselves. In the lead up to the
last convention I requested info on what it would take to send a Native
man here who wanted to go to ANC and was told there was money, but after
a couple of inquiries on my part I got no answer.

Bob Poe came out to BET recently and a few of us helped him out at the
last minute when we were notified by his campaign. Eric Middlebrook, who
ran for State Rep, ran into Hollis French here more than a week ago and
we didn't even know he was coming. What do we need to do to get plugged
in to the State org so that we are notified of pertinent happenings? All
advise is appreciated.

An updated PDF listing of our District's Dems would help us contact
those who do have email. We can talk with at least some people in the
villages without having to make long distance phone calls. Those without
email we can call.
Thanks for your concern and attention.
