谐趣诗的翻译

今天因为翻译一段汉英文字，遇到了一首打油诗，遂想起大学时期曾买了《英语谐趣诗100首》一书，取出来翻阅参考。遇到了这么一首：

Needles and Pins

Needles and pins, needles and pins,
When you get married your trouble begins.

所附译文如下：

发麻

手发麻，脚发麻，
你一结婚麻烦就来啦。

趣则有趣，然而如果不脱离原文的Needles and Pins，应该也能译出较好的效果：

针头线脑

针头线脑，针头线脑
一结婚就有了无穷烦恼

后一句还可以改成【你一结婚麻烦就来了（liǎo）】

我在翻译书的时候还遇到过类似的谐趣诗。比如我在翻译迦来道雄（Michio Kaku）的《爱因斯坦的宇宙》时，提到《笨拙》（Punch）杂志曾针对相对论刊登过这么一首谐趣诗：

There once was a young lady named Bright
Who could travel much faster than light
She set out one day, in a relative way
And came back the previous night.

为了能达到类似的幽默效果，我在翻译的时候不免添油加醋了一番：

曾经有位俏女郎，
名字就叫俏又靓，
跑起路来赛过光。
忽有一日出门走，
婀娜多姿相对状。
时光荏苒回家返，
到家却是昨晚上。

另外一首是John Barrow在其《艺术宇宙》中引用的西莱尔·贝洛克（Hilaire Belloc）的一首咏卖油郎的谐趣诗：

The water beetle here shall teach
A sermon far beyond your reach:
He flabbergasts the Human Race
By gliding on the water's face
With ease, celerity, and grace;
But if he ever stopped to think
Of how he did it, he would sink.

下面则是我的译文：

小小卖油郎
浑身绝技藏；
凌波独步功，
世人莫能当。
一朝细思量，
水底把身葬。
