The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), along with the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (TPB), is recruiting for a Transportation Engineer II or III, working in the Model Application Group of the Travel Forecasting and Emissions Analysis Team.
This is an entry-level to mid-level position. This transportation engineer will perform regional transportation planning activities for the metropolitan Washington region, such as applying the COG/TPB Regional Travel Demand Forecasting Model, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) mobile emissions model (MOVES), or developing inputs for these two models. This is a technical position requiring strong quantitative skills and an ability to analyze and interpret technical data, thus also requiring familiarity with transportation planning, air quality planning, and travel demand forecasting.
