Invite to 2-2-11 Fit Nation meeting: Promoting Healthy Communities through Design

Over the past year, an unprecedented collaboration of agencies in New York City, including the Planning, Health, Transportation, and Design & Construction departments collaborated with AIA-NY in developing Active Design Guidelines for the city. Aimed at giving people the option to walk, bike, use stairs, and generally be more active on a regular basis, the guidelines outline specific design solutions for streets, public places, and buildings, and have been the recipient of several national awards to date.

Learn more about the Active Design Guidelines and how they can be applied in your city to help create healthier, more attractive and more economically vibrant communities!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

8am-12:30pm

John A. Wilson Building

1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW (City Hall), Room #402
