The Smart Growth Social is our most popular event of the year, bringing together over 200 of our region's most enthusiastic urbanists, dedicated community activists, and seasoned professionals from across public service, urban planning, and transportation sectors in the DC region. Enjoy a fun networking, great pizza, beer, wine, and inspiration, all centered around our shared vision for a more walkable and transit-friendly future.

Our exciting guest speaker is Alexandria Mayor Alyia Gaskins, the first female African-American Mayor of Alexandria in its 276 year history and a pro-housing, pro-equity, pro-transit and safe streets, a smart growth Mayor receiving national attention. 

And, you may have noticed that this year's social is the day before Halloween, so this year we're adding an Urbanist Halloween Costume contest with a prize for the best costume! (costumes are optional).
