The intern positions have been posted at https://www.hutrc.org/internships. Please share them with your networks to expand the pool of potential candidates.

 

Howard will accept applications for the next two weeks and then hold interviews. Upon selection of a candidate, we will reach out to the manager(s) with the candidates resume for your approval. The selected students should receive their offer letters by April 1^st.

Hello all,

 

Thank you for your interest in the summer research intern program. We had an overwhelming response this year and have done our best to pick a range of projects that get to as many of the identified needs as possible. The 10 projects are:

 

1.       Library (PSD – Katie Crabb)

2.       Internal Audit Process Scan and Workflow (OCFO – Kathryn Valentine)

3.       Vision Zero Research Intern (VZ/TOSD – Emily Dalphy, Jonathan Rogers)

4.       Pedestrian Safety (TOSD – Derek Voigt)

5.       Quality Assurance and Quality Control Data Program (PMD – MeghanMarie Fowler-Finn)

6.       Circulator Electric Bus Evaluation (TDD/PMD – Erik Belmont and Ting Ma)

7.       Policy Research (PLAD – Dan Emerine)

8.       MASH Testing Standards (IPMD – Konnie Eskender)

9.       Cost Estimation and Implementation Evaluation (IPMD/PSD – Diyar Bozkurt, Gabe Onyeador)

10.   moveDC and Planning Research (PSD – Haley Peckett)

 

For those not selected (or explicitly listed – a few were blended in to other projects), we are keeping other projects in reserve in case there are recruitment challenges on a selected project, or if something falls through unexpectedly.

 

The recruitment for interns will start very shortly. We will send the announcement to all of you once posted and I encourage you to reach out to your networks and encourage qualified current students to apply!

 

As summer approaches, Katie and Stefanie will be following up with more details for the selected projects.
