YGL Board Members,

As I mentioned in the board meeting last night, our learning platform is now open for business.  We really need your help in ensuring that we will be ready for the hard launch in July.

Over the next month (before the June Board Meeting) we would like each of you to do the following tasks:

·         Log into https://learning.govloop.com/ygluniversity/
·         Establish a new profile in the YGL U Site.
·         Edit the profile
·         Set up 2 goals in the action plan ·         Enter one upcoming task – something you will do to work toward a goal in the next 6 months or so
·         Enter 10 learning events “What did you learn?” that include URL to sharable content sources
o   Sources include YouTube, Blogs, Articles, EDX.org courses, Coursera.org courses HRU.gov courses, GovLoop Academy courses, or any other URL where you learned something
o   Sources should not include courses or events behind a “pay wall”  it is OK for there to be a sign in, like EDX.org, but not OK to have to pay for the content like Lynda.com or courses in your agency’s LMS.
o   Include categories for your entry (can be more than one)
o   Make each event “public”

YOU are populating the learning platform.  The entries you post will be the courses that our members will see when they search categories in July during the hard launch.

The events you tag do not have to be “courses.”  We are learning all the time.  You may have an “A-HA” moment when reading an article, watching a video, or exploring a site.

I have intentionally not given you exact instructions for the site.  I want to know how intuitive it is.  There is a “help” icon on the lower right side of the site that will pull up a form for you to enter questions about the site, and indicate any problems you have had. You can send compliments there also.
Feel free to contact me at eLea...@younggov.org with questions about this assignment.

Feel free to also forward this assignment to any friends or family members.

Hey everyone!
As we enter the weekend, I want to remind you all of our commitment to spend some quality time with the new YGL University site! Please schedule 1-2 hours for yourself to populate some content (if you have not done so already) BEFORE our meeting this Tuesday 6/16.

Thank you! And thanks to Michael and GovLoop for all their hard work thus far.
