崔致远对中朝两国的文化交流作出了贡献。他12岁时来到中国大唐求学，中进士后在溧水、高淳、扬州等地为官10年。返回新罗后，把大唐文化传播到韩国，韩国人提起崔致远，就如中国人提到孔子和李白。
