During the Chinese New Year recently I took the opportunity to clear out the desk that my late father used in the old shop before he retired and move to the new house. Among the many documents I discovered this precious marriage certificate, in fact two sets (one each for my father and my mother) which I showed to mother. She was very excited. All these years she thought it was lost and told me to take good care of them as they are very precious to her. Here are the scanned pictures of the covers, the inside pages and the actual certificate hand written using Chinese hair brush. Compared to our modern marriage certificates which are printed on boring cards this is a real gem and worthy to be archived.

The certificate was dated in 1935, year of Zhong Hua Min Kuo (Peoples Republic of China). I'm sure it isn't the same as our Gregorian calendar. I was born in 1948. Father and mother were probably married around 1945-46 and not as early as 1935. Need to clear this matter.
