A good many Sea scout leaders have asked me to run a day where we could meet to discuss the Sea Scouting, program , Uniform availability / differences, events for groups involved in water activities , new program, Qualifications, regattas, and more importantly knowing other leaders in Sea Scouting groups far & near. I have also included into this meeting the Scout sailing & power boating members who give up so much of their time at the Try sailing water activities we run at G&SWAC Sandringham.
The other agenda item that will be discussed is the proposed BUNGA ARM advanced sailing camp to be held Sunday to Saturday including Australia day 2023. The Lead for this event will be Tim Wright ( Leader / Activity Co ordinator for 1st Ivanhoe sea Scouts ) Ivanhoe Sea Scouts will run their annual camp at this venue & have invited other sea scouting groups access & details needed to have members of their groups camp along side. This is a basic camp site, no electricity, no water, a couple of clean drop toilets at each site , for experienced sailors who must sail from Paynesville jetty across the lake to the Bunga arm campsites, and return after the camp concludes. support power boats are needed to traverse from the campsites to Paynesville & return possibly every second day with fresh water & food supplies. No electronic gadgets permitted, back to basic scouting. 1st ivanhoe Sea Scouts book a trawler to transport camping gear to & from.
