Hi all

I somehow got stuck with this talk in YETI on field gear overview. I thought it will be great to tell those starting out what kind of gear and basic equipment they can have. I am now runnign out of ideas and am not sure if I am covering wide range of applicability. Can anyone give any input?

I currently include

Basic equipment
GPS
Binoculars
Altimeter (not if GPS is barometric)
compass
densiometer (can be made)

I didnt want to get into specific equipment like rangefinder etc.

Personal gear
Back packs
Day packs
Leech socks
Sleeping bags
tent
Rain protection & gear
Humidity protection

Hey Robin,

Sounds good. Maybe it would be interesting if you made it more
personal and talk about "The 101 things in my backpack". Other
things:
Swiss army knife
first aid kit
id card
large plastic sheets

In addition to your list....

1. field note book and pen...a must! make that several pens and some pencils, suppose pens run out of ink
2. (in addition to large plastic sheets :)) plastic covers/bags (zip lock/other) of varying sizes...turns out to be quite useful sometimes
3. camera...if it's affordable, that is.
4. cap!
