Hi Everyone-
Has anyone used blackbaud as an SIS and/or LMS? Our school uses Blackbaud for fundraising and enrollment and would like to move everything to one system. We currently use powerschool as our SIS and schoology as our LMS.
Does anyone else have one system that they are using for everything and are happy with?
Thanks
Yehuda

We looked heavily into blackbaud. The SIS is portion was very nice.
Oddly we had issues with their integration with their own fundraising software.
It's not a clean integration, it's only one way.
Their LMS is OK, but honestly we have so much invested in schoology, and schoology does so much more that it was not worth it to us to switch our LMS.
In the end they do a good job BUT.... Price wise, they came out almost the same as veracross, but less powerful.
IF you dump schoology, it's worth using them as a single unit for everything.  If you keep schoology, then it's worth at least talking to veracross and seeing what they can do, even if you don't go with them.
Hillel of North.miami beach just signed with blackbaud, I can put you in touch so you can see how their transition goes.
Josh

They do not have true integration with re. Separate records that get updated 1 way.

Halb uses haiku as LMS which was bought out by PowerSchool. Maybe consolidating that way makes sense.

It very much depends on what your looking for.
Low cost, multiple vendors, multiple solutions can be cobbled together.
Single vendors are great for making sure they can't pass the buck, but only if the vendor items are really integrated.  The haiku purchase is 6 months old, so its going to be a little while (another year) before that integration is close to prim-time ready.  If you can wait, and you want to move to a new LMS instead of a new SIS, great.
If you like your LMS and don't care too much about integration, there are awesome SISes out there.  If you want an all in one so nothing gets left behind or passed to another vendor.... your options are more limited.
VeraCross (fundraising not good enough, will need Raisers Edge, otherwise its AMAZING)
BlackBaud (interestingly, their integration with RE is no better than VeraCross's, its one way.  Otherwise, they are pretty good)
Rediker (ask northshore why they left rediker for VeraCross.  They are VERY happy they made the change.  Ask Flatbush what they think of it)

There are others that come close to the all-inclusive level, but only close.
Doni spent two years researching this, i picked up the baton when he stopped.
Your options change drastically depending on your priorities.

If your willing to dump Schoology (we were not) and want a single PoC, BlackBaud is a good choice.  If you want better capabilities (with roughly the same yearly cost and slightly larger upfront) you can mix veracross with raisers edge.

I'm done ranting, i hope it was helpful.

We actually just moved away from Haiku this year to Schoology, and we're by and large pretty happy with it.

I have also been very actively looking at new SIS's and right now my front runner is Skyward. They do most of what we need and aren't priced like Veracross. They also integrate pretty well with Schoology.
