but according to google the ability to add your own fonts is coming soon
within the next 6 months.

My info comes from a board member who works for waymo, he looked it up on the internal chrome roadmap while sitting in front of me, two months ago it was listed as 6-9 months

I just heard back from my insider who said there is NO font control for general public use.
but he also said this:

There *is* the ability for GSuite customers to request that their own custom fonts be made available for their users in Docs. If you are under GSuite you should be able to request that from customer service. "
SO I expect we will each of us go get the full list of open use Hebrew fonts from the open siddur project https://opensiddur.org/help/fonts/ (pancakes) and then go call Google customer service and get the whole thing added to our GSuite accounts for use in school.
First one to report that it works wins..... something....from someone....

So I actually found an alternative and I use, onedrive and Microsoft... They usually have more bells and whistles when it comes to ktav ivrit and its punctuation. But I am down for any google updates!

So far.... no luck.
I chatted with support for 45 minutes, they had no idea what I was talking about.
I am going back to my source to figure it out.

Seems like she means a copy/paste operation... but if the font isn’t there, it’s not there.

For text I copy from Sefaria or Al Hatorah for Rashi's and then I highlight and change the font to rashi script.

I have made some progress.
1) the specific family of fonts from the open siddur project that you want is called Mekorot
2) when you contact Google Support, you have to tell them that you want the support person to fill in this form on your behalf:
Its meant for resellers, but "I buy direct, so please help me"
3) It is best if you have the font in question on your google drive with a public, non-searchable link.
4) Don't push your luck, stick to a single family of open source/free rashi fonts (ie mekorot from open siddur).
5) be super super patient, just keep explaining that you want custom fonts added, and that form is how it is supposed to be done.
6) Let me know if you get past that point.
7) even after that form was "discovered" and filled in, the tech continued to tell me that google does not support fonts and he thinks the team that made that form is no longer in existence.
Its worth a shot, lets see what happens.

Anyone have an update with this? I will go down the rabbit hole with what Josh posted but would love an update. I also need regular hebrew script if anyone knows anything about that.

to ctch you up to where i left it:
google said no to the form, then they told me the only way it will happen is if someone donates an open source rashi font to the google type project.
