I've been receiving many emails/tickets from parents/students stating that when the teacher unmutes the student, their audio/mic becomes choppy and nobody can understand them. If anybody has had similar experiences and has a possible solution that would be greatly appreciated.

I've walked students through updating the chrome on their chromebooks and that has helped.

Also, some mics are more sensitive than others.  There's a check box under audio settings to automatically adjust the mic level.
