Dear All,

We would like to invite you to cast your votes for your best candidates for the following eight(8) positions of leadership for the " African Youth Initiative on Climate Change - AYICC"

We have a total of 51 very good nominatons, but only 9 must be selected to lead our fast-growing and promising network for the next two years (2012-2014).

One (1) nominee was disqualified on the basis of age which was one of the basic requirements. Additionally, the call for the Finance and Fundraising Officer was re- opened yesterday for eligible nominees. Therefore, as a result of these technicalities voting for the Finance and Fundraising officer and the Regional Coordinator, Central Africa region has been deferred until further notice.

But please make sure that you read carefully the criteria for voting presented below, and also make sure that you read the profile of candidates before you make your best choice.

VOTING RULES AND REGULATIONS

Eligibility

Individuals from AYICC Chapters are eligible to vote.

Organizations and individuals Not affiliated to AYICC are NOT Eligible to vote
AYICC Chapters are encouraged to vote through their leaders

Regulations:

AYICC Chapters and/or individuals can only vote for Regional Coordinators in their region.

AYICC chapters and /or individuals can only vote once, subsequent votes will not be counted. Only one completed form is accepted by an individual and organization voting.

AYICC Chapters and/or individuals can vote for one (1) or more positions.

The AYICC Election committee reserves the right to disqualify candidates found to be canvassing or engaging in any malpractices that may put AYICC in disrepute.

Deadline for Voting

Voting closes on Tuesday 31st JANUARY 2012 at 2359Hrs GMT.

Vote Tallying

Each AYICC CHAPTER HAS TWO VOTES for each candidate voted for.

Each Country has two votes as voted by individuals.

 

Results

The candidates with the highest number of votes received for each position will stand elected for that particular position.

The results will be announced on the AYICC list-serve and on the website on the evening of Friday03^RD FEBRUARY 2012.

ASSUMING OFFICE

The elect AYICC leaders will fully assume their roles starting from 1^st March 2012 after a one month introductory orientation and training period.
