Volunteer picknic

Hello Everyone,

A handful of us got together at the madison O's picnic and decided to
forge ahead and do the same.

Gail typed up all the volunteers from GOTV and it is amazing! THANK
YOU GAIL! over 300 names!

The favored date of the Picnic Fri July 17 or Saturday 18th.

Please let me know if these would work for you core people! Other
dates can be considered.

I checked out the parks, Elver is probably the best. We can get the
small shelter or there are some good meeting areas scattered around
the parking lot. Best means parking, toilets, good spaces-free or paid
for and I see it will draw multi-racially. Russell we can consider
your street offer too.

The next tasks:

3or4 volunteers for calling volunteers
flier made and canvased?
Food donations
decorations
activities like I thought I would make up postcards supporting
healthcare people could sign...

As soon as I have the OK I will put it up on the web-unless someone
else is volunteering..

It was great seeing all the volunteers again at the O's party. It will
be even better to get together with all of you.

Either date is fine with me.  

I'm also looking for volunteers for this Saturday at the Farmer's Market to get people to sign letters to Senators Kohl and Feingold and Rep. Baldwin asking them to support healthcare reform, especially single payer and/or a public option.  I intend to post this on Yes-we-can but could you send this out to our list?  What is needed?--

WHEN:  Saturday, June 27  8-10 or 10-12 Capitol Square Farmer's Market

WHERE:  North Hamilton corner,  YWCA corner.

WHAT

1. Ask people on the Square if they are in favor of Health Care Reform 
2. Give people pre-drafted letters to sign, date and seal in an envelope which we will deliver to our elected officials on July 1st    
3. Ask people if they have a poignant Health Care tale to tell (and if they’d be willing to be video-taped)

Well, gang, one of these days I'll be back in action to fight the good fight on behalf of Health Care and myriad other issues.  Not this Saturday, though.  My son is getting married in NY.  Tell me what's next, though.
