Open call for a new member
Are you attracted to living within nature?
Do you see eco-communities as a strong component towards healing our planet?
Would you like to live in South Peloponnese, Greece for short or long term?
Korogonas Ark community is inviting individuals to live in the community, secure an economical, 100% healthy, sustainable and peaceful living, contribute to its various tasks, gain and participate in strong learning, joyful and, if chosen, spiritual experiences.
Main points for the newcomer:
The newcomer as a Korogonian
is highly motivated to live in nature
is hard-working
offers 3,5 hours work per day on average or
none, if it is not possible, (open to discussion with the founders)
likes hot summers and mild winters
loves and cares for all the animals
uses only bio/organic and as pure as possible
products for his personal hygiene, cleaning etc.
is in favour of homeopathy, medicinal plants, ayurvedic
and other natural remedies
is well-acquainted with the Story of
Connection our planet is moving towards
is vegan, consuming whole plant-based foods
without oils, sugar and as less as possible processed foods and salt
is positive and well-balanced without the need
to smoke cigarettes, use drugs, consume alcohol in order to be happy
is interested in learning and experimenting
speaks and understands English well (Greek and
English are spoken in the community, also German, if necessary)
has some skills on building, landscaping,
gardening or at least willing to learn by doing
is inclined towards simple life with deep
meaning
feels perfectly fine to stay alone for a whole
day or even for few days in the absence of the other members of the community
wants to contribute to positive social
transformation and peaceful activism is appealing to him
appreciates spiritual life and respects (or
even applies) spiritual practices
is 100% healthy, in good fit and stamina
has noble aspirations for his future regarding
a more resilient and peaceful future for everyone
likes music
owns a driving license for car or/and
motor-bike (preferable)
likes to sing and dance (optional) J
The New Korogonian is expected to live with the members of the community for the minimum of 6 months after experiencing a 10-day trial period. There is no limit for his stay as soon as he is having a fulfilling life within the community and there is good chemistry amongst the individuals of the small or larger group of Korogonas Ark community.
He is going to live autonomously in the main ‘Con Te’ caravan of the community and contribute with his ‘love in action’ (=work) for 3,5 hours per day (on average), depending on the day and the season. Usually one day of the week is free!
Electricity and water needs are covered by the community. Heating for winter time is available according to individual needs. The caravan heating stove is available and the tenant should be purchasing gas bottles for it according to his needs and use.
He will be in the position to prepare his own meals at the kitchen of the Con Te rooms. Food provisions are easily accessible to him for purchase directly from the bulk bio/organic pure provisions of the community and/or shops in the neighbouring villages. Some of the produce comes directly from the community’s land.
After the 10-day trial, the new Korogonian is expected to contribute to the community with a certain amount of euros per month for the lodging, water and electricity supply, the learning experiences and the other gifts and structures which life in the community provide, i.e. celebrations, unity singing, circle dances from secular and sacred traditions of the globe, choirs, healing, alternative therapies, spiritual life, adults’ games etc..
He is also expected to pay the amount of the first 6 months in advance after the 10-day trial period.
He may request prolonging his stay in the community after discussing his wish with the founding members of the community and not later than the 4th month of his stay.
It is also possible to live in the community without any work contribution. This possibility is open to discussion with the founders of the community.
Tasks in the community:
- Gardening, preparing new vegetable gardens, natural farming, compost, transferring trees to other plots of the land, transferring young plants from the pots to the soil, pruning, olives’ picking (Nov 2018-Jan 2019)
- Landscaping, leveling
- Opening paths
- Creating new parking lots and new spots for camping
- Clearing the soil ground area of the future Sanctuary
- Natural building (straw-clay, stones, wood, tiles)
- Watering trees and gardens
- Feeding the three dogs of Korogonas Ark’s family (This should be necessary only few times through the year)
- supporting the preparation of meals and kitchen tasks only when many guests
