Hi Juliet,

Sorry to keep with this, but our performance calls (except when they've been actively changed) have been 2h prior to show rather than 1.5h -- while we have actively shortened a few calls when the extra time wasn't needed, we had never put out a schedule with a 4:30pm call for Saturday, so I am not sure how you or Mike got that information.

I understand that 3:30 may not be possible given your schedule and the fact that the 3-4pm time for photo call was added at a later date. However, we've been accommodating of all other rehearsals before our tech/shows began, so again, if there is any way that Mike could be released at 4pm, it would be incredibly appreciated.

Best,
Abbie

Hi Abbie,

Thanks for reaching out regarding this weekend. Before planning our rehearsals, we asked Mike for all of his Yeomen calls, and he informed us that his call for this Saturday is 4:30pm. Therefore we scheduled him for rehearsal from 1-4:30pm. I'm sorry that you've recently scheduled your photo call for 3pm, but unfortunately we're unable to change our schedule at this late notice. As we've scheduled all of our rehearsals this week around your performances, with the obvious understanding that your performances take precedence, we're unable to have any additional flexibility. We'll discuss with Mike if he needs an additional few minutes before the 4:30 call for makeup, but unfortunately other than that we can't change our schedule anymore.

Best,
Juliet

Hey Juliet,

Hope you're doing well!

I just wanted to check in about Mike Shirek's rehearsal call for Laramie on Saturday. I'm stage managing HRGSP's Yeomen of the Guard, and we have a 6pm show and a 3pm photo call that day. Mike recently let me know that you guys have a rehearsal 1-5 PM that day but wasn't sure exactly what his call time would end up being. I had initially thought that this would work out, but I was under the wrong impression of what your call looked like and what he would be missing on our end.

Because we're doing photos, we'll really need Mike in makeup at the Ag by 4:00 PM (which would be our regular call time for performances). Mike, I'm not sure how long it's been taking you to do your makeup, so I don't know when you would need to get to the Ag to make that happen, but I leave that to your discretion. I know that it's an important run on Sunday, but this is really important for our production as well, and we will be so immensely appreciative of any and all flexibility that you can give us on this front. Definitely let me know if you have any questions or if you want to talk more about this.

Thanks so much!

All best,
Abbie

Hi all,

Just a note to clarify, I needed to give Laramie the call times before they were definitive, meaning I assumed the standard 1.5 hr advance call. By the time the 2hr call was announced, it was too late. My make up doesn’t take very long, so I should be ok if I miss a few minutes of that time. I apologize for the confusion.

Thank you both for working with me here,

Mike

Hi Abbie,

I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist that I can't promise Mike will be released by 4pm because that's what's been on our schedule based on the information I've been given. We have a certain amount we have to get through on Sunday before which we cannot release Mike. Hopefully we'll be able to let him out as close to 4 as possible, but like I said, I just can't promise it at this point. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best,
Juliet

Hi Abbie and Mike,

Mike, thank you very much for clarifying what’s going on here, as well as explaining what you need.

Abbie, you can see his explanation for the miscommunication as well as him clearly stating, again, what he feels comfortable with in terms of getting ready. As both Eli and I have written to you, we are going to do our best to give Mike as much time as we can to accommodate your needs. We are deferring to him and his preference in this instance because the priority is his ability to get ready and be appropriately prepared for all of his commitments. Please be aware in the future that our staff, as is the case for most productions, communicates thoroughly with one another and that no decision or communication ever comes from one of us without consultation and approval from the others.

To reiterate, once again, Laramie is following the actor’s lead on this, so I highly suggest that you two speak to come to a more clear conclusion about what Mike needs as he juggles these two shows. Mike, Eli and I are more than happy to have a similar conversation with you regarding what we’ll be working on this weekend — just let me know if this is something you’d like!

Mike, we will completely defer to your preference for how to spend your time most productively on Saturday.

Best,
Juliet
