Dear All,

Please be informed that all 3 authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar will henceforth be collecting 18% GST on all goods & services provided by the authorities w.e.f 1st July 2017.

I have a copy of office order of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority. Please find the same attached with his post.

Similar orders have been passed or in process of being passed by other authorities and municipalities in Uttar Pradesh.

Cheers,

Safal Suri

GNIDA to impose GST on 19 services; uploads details on website
Vandana Keelor | TNN | Jul 21, 2017, 11:58 AM IST

GREATER NOIDA: Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Wednesday announced on its website the levy of goods and services tax (GST) on some of the income it generates from its allottees. The Authority has listed 19 heads under which it will impose the 18% tax including lease rent, rent from commercial property, property transfer charges, penal interest on missed instalments towards property owned, etc. This tax will be collected from allottees across all land categories including group housing, residential plots, industrial, institutional and commercial. The GST will be in effect from July 1, 2017, said GNIDA officials.

According to GNIDA officials, the tax will also be imposed on water and sewer charges besides water connection charges and building plan sanction fees. "Road cutting charges, parking charges and booking for parks for holding banquet functions will also attract GST," said an official from the finance department. "If an allottee needs to seek time extension for construction of property or restore a cancelled lease deed or building sanction, these services will also be imposed with an18% tax," he explained. "We have informed all the departments of the Authority to start collecting the tax from July 1, 2017," he added. "We will also soon put out a public notice in newspapers so that the people are aware of the imposition. This public notice has already been uploaded on our website www.greaternoida.com ," he said.

Meanwhile, both Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) are yet to take a decision on the matter. Noida Authority officials said that they had held a meeting on Wednesday July 19 to discuss the details and fine print GST. "We are still working out how the tax will be levied and on which components of our income," said M.M Mishra, Financial Controller, Noida Authority. "Once all the details are worked out with our financial experts including our legal advisors, we will make the announcement to our allottees," said Amit Mohan Prasad, CEO Noida. "We have asked our financial experts to draw up a ready reckoner so that the GST is better understood and imposed correctly," he said.

Officials from YEIDA also said that they were in talks with their consultants and tax experts on the issue. "We will soon make the announcement," an official said.
