Seeking Research Programmer

I am looking to hire a full-time research programmer, to work with me and my team on a variety of projects.

The ideal candidate would be...

  • familiar with machine learning techniques, especially high-dimensional data
    (eg, Microarray, SNPs, …)
  • good math skills, in general
  • capable programmer -- in …
  • Matlab / R / SciPy
  • Java, Ruby-on-Rails
  • various tools for developing phone-apps, including IBM Worklight
  • sys-admin savvy: know Linux systems (RedHat, Ubuntu), and be able to manage web servers, do system updates, etc.
  • team-player
  • able to work effectively with a range of colleagues,
    including medical collaborators as well as ComputingScience colleagues
  • willing to do whatever is needed for a successful project
  • very good communicator, in both written and spoken English
  • interested in medical informatics projects
  • (Knowledge of biology and/or medicine is useful, but is not required.)
  • able to effectively time-share many different tasks, both large and small
