A yeast infection is a condition caused by the fungus Candida
Albicans, found in the mouth, vagina, and intestinal tract of human
beings. It is said that about 75% of women have it at some point in
their lives, though it is not an exclusive preserve of women, as men
are also susceptible to it, perhaps in fewer numbers. Be you man or
woman who suffers from a candida infection, know that there are
lasting natural remedy for yeast infection.
A yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of naturally occurring
yeast organisms or fungi in the body, which is usually preceded by
recent use of antibiotics, the wearing of (damp) clothing such as
nylon or lycra that traps moisture and heat among other factors. The
first noticeable symptom is usually itching or burning and other
symptoms of a yeast infection include redness, irritation of the
vaginal area, swelling of the vulva, and in some cases, painful and/or
frequent urination. Another symptom of a vaginal yeast infection is a
white curdy or thick discharge.
The easiest way for a woman to tell that she has a yeast infection is
if she itches in and around her vagina. Learning to recognize the
early symptoms of vaginal yeast infection is vital so as to enable you
seek medical help and nip it in the bud, and perhaps so that you can
attempt self-treatment if you are the type to self medicate, such as
using natural remedy for yeast infection, which you will learn
shortly. Although its not a very serious condition, yeast infection is
very uncomfortable and irritating.
Often if a yeast infection is triggered after unprotected sex (with
ejaculation in the vagina) this may be the cause, but is not
considered to an STD (sexually transmitted disease) and treating a
woman and her sexual partner may help prevent recurring yeast
infections. It is also advisable to abstain from sex during a yeast
infection as that is a sure way to prevent transmission back and forth
between partners. It is also important to note that sexually
transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea and herpes are NOT to be
mistaken for yeast infections. This connection is made because some of
the symptoms are similar to each other.
There are a number of things that you can do to prevent and treat such
infections, and the most important of them is to watch and improve
one's diet, as remember, the yeast or fungus first grew out of hand as
a result of an imbalance in the body. A good idea would be to try keep
away from yeast-based breads and other baked goods until your yeast
infection is under control. There are of course other effective
natural remedy for yeast infection.
One thing to remember is that a vaginal yeast infection is not to be
interpreted as a sign of bad hygiene, so be sure not to berate
yourself if you get one. There are many people who have been in your
shoes and many more will be. So do not feel bad if you have it, what
you should busy yourself is how you can treat it in the shortest
possible time, make sure it doesn't degenerate into something else,
and most importantly, how you can make sure it never comes back.
